Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a diligent and detail-oriented Hotel Housekeeping Attendant to join a reputable hospitality team in Alekuwodo, Osogbo, facilitated by Career.zycto. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for meticulously cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces in accordance with established hotel policies and procedures. This involves a comprehensive range of tasks, from making beds with precision, replenishing all guest amenities, to thorough vacuuming, dusting every surface, sanitizing bathrooms to a sparkling finish, and handling laundry efficiently. Beyond the physical tasks, your role extends significantly to creating a positive and lasting guest impression. Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels and guest amenities (toiletries, coffee, etc.).
  • Vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust furniture and fixtures, and sanitize surfaces in rooms and common areas.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms thoroughly, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Empty trash cans and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.
  • Handle guest requests politely and efficiently, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
  • Maintain a neat and organized housekeeping cart and storage areas.
  • Adhere to hotel policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations and key control.
  • Manage laundry tasks, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and guest room stocks, informing supervisors of inventory needs.
  • Provide turndown service when required, refreshing rooms for the evening.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar cleaning role (at least 6 months).
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of different cleaning methods for various surfaces.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) for room status updates.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages (especially local languages) is a plus.
