Key Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels and guest amenities (toiletries, coffee, etc.).
- Vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust furniture and fixtures, and sanitize surfaces in rooms and common areas.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms thoroughly, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, and mirrors.
- Empty trash cans and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.
- Handle guest requests politely and efficiently, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Maintain a neat and organized housekeeping cart and storage areas.
- Adhere to hotel policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations and key control.
- Manage laundry tasks, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and guest room stocks, informing supervisors of inventory needs.
- Provide turndown service when required, refreshing rooms for the evening.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar cleaning role (at least 6 months).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of different cleaning methods for various surfaces.
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) for room status updates.
- Ability to speak multiple languages (especially local languages) is a plus.
