Job Description
Are you a vigilant, dedicated, and highly responsible individual with a keen eye for detail? Seed Co International Limited is seeking a proactive and committed Full-Time Security Guard to join our operational team in Mashonaland East Province, Zimbabwe. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and security of our valuable personnel, property, and assets across our various sites within the province. This position requires an individual who is not only observant but also capable of responding effectively and calmly to diverse security situations, maintaining a secure environment at all times. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence, preventing illegal or inappropriate acts.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Operate security equipment such as CCTV, alarms, and access control systems effectively.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to ensure proper functionality and security.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Escort individuals to specific locations or provide personal protection as required.
- Enforce company regulations and security procedures.
- Perform other related security duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a security guard or relevant position (2 years minimum).
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Familiarity with reporting relevant information.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical fitness and strength to handle various duties, including prolonged standing and patrolling.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Valid Security Guard license/certification (where applicable).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in an agricultural or industrial security setting.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and system monitoring.
