Key Responsibilities
- Operate a delivery van safely and efficiently across the Chicoutimi, Saguenay area.
- Load, unload, and secure packages carefully to prevent damage during transit.
- Follow planned delivery routes and schedules; adapt to traffic or weather conditions.
- Verify accuracy of delivery manifests and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding any delays, issues, or route changes.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
- Accurately handle cash or electronic payments if required, recording all transactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent in Quebec) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 6 months of professional driving or delivery experience.
- Strong knowledge of Chicoutimi and surrounding Saguenay areas.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg).
- Customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with handheld delivery devices or GPS navigation systems.
