ZIMOCO is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Auto Mechanic to join our dynamic service team in Mashonaland West Province. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues using specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs.
- Adhere strictly to manufacturer specifications, service manuals, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle status, repair needs, and estimated timelines.
- Keep abreast of new automotive technologies, repair techniques, and product updates through ongoing training.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the workshop and tools.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold ZIMOCO's commitment to customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Auto Mechanic, preferably with multiple vehicle brands.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work.
- Valid Class 1 Motor Mechanic Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Clean Class 4 Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or higher qualification in Automotive Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with luxury or commercial vehicle brands (e.g., Mercedes-Benz, FUSO).
- Familiarity with ZIMOCO's specific vehicle brands and diagnostic software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
