Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and informative tours of historical sites, natural attractions, and cultural landmarks in May Pen and the wider Clarendon parish.
- Share fascinating stories, historical facts, and cultural insights in an entertaining and accessible manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants, adhering to all local regulations and company guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries and needs promptly and courteously.
- Adapt tour content and pace to suit the interests, mobility, and demographics of diverse groups.
- Manage tour logistics, including timing, transportation coordination, and entry points.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, representing Career.zycto and Jamaica positively.
- Continuously update knowledge of local attractions, history, and current events.
- Handle minor issues or emergencies that may arise during tours with calm and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and storytelling abilities in English.
- In-depth knowledge of May Pen and Clarendon's history, culture, geography, and attractions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable personality.
- Ability to engage diverse groups and maintain their interest throughout the tour.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible.
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods and navigate various terrains.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
