Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor multiple CCTV cameras and associated equipment in a control room environment.
- Proactively observe and identify suspicious activities, potential threats, and security breaches.
- Record and log all incidents, anomalies, and significant events accurately and comprehensively.
- Report all observed incidents to the appropriate personnel (e.g., on-site security, management, emergency services) in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular checks of CCTV equipment to ensure full functionality and report any malfunctions.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents by reviewing recorded footage and providing evidence when required.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, and relevant data protection legislation (e.g., GDPR).
- Maintain a detailed and organised log of all activities, incidents, and communications during shifts.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal teams and external agencies.
- Contribute to maintaining a secure and safe working environment.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) CCTV Licence
- Proven experience as a CCTV Operator or in a similar surveillance role
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in using CCTV monitoring software and systems
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond calmly to incidents
- Sound knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations relevant to CCTV operations
- IT literacy, including basic use of Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Emergency First Aid at Work qualification
- Experience with advanced access control systems
- Previous experience in a control room or command centre environment
- Additional security certifications or training
