We are seeking a passionate and skilled Gardener – Landscaping & Grounds Care professional to join our team, working across various sites within Kirkby, Liverpool. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, strimming, weeding, pruning, and hedge cutting.
- Planting and care of seasonal flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plant material.
- Maintain irrigation systems and ensure appropriate watering schedules.
- Undertake hard landscaping tasks such as path repairs, fence maintenance, and general groundwork.
- Operate and safely maintain a variety of gardening machinery and tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Identify and treat plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Ensure all sites are kept clean, tidy, and free from litter and hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors and clients.
- Assist with seasonal clearances and winter maintenance tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in professional gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
- Strong practical knowledge of horticulture, including plant identification, cultivation, and care.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining a range of garden machinery (e.g., mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers).
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, as well as part of a team.
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina for demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- A valid UK driving license.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture, Landscaping, or a related field.
- PA1/PA6 certification for pesticide application.
- Experience with advanced landscaping techniques and design principles.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation system maintenance.
- First Aid certification.
