Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair work on buildings, equipment, and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, identifying root causes of malfunctions and implementing effective repair solutions.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and tasks to ensure longevity and optimal performance of all facility assets.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Identify and report potential hazards or areas requiring significant improvement to management.
  • Assist with facility renovations, installations, and improvement projects as required.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, cleaned, and stored safely.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in general building maintenance and repairs.
  • Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant trade qualification or certification (e.g., City & Guilds in an electrical, plumbing, or carpentry discipline).
  • Experience with HVAC systems and basic fault finding.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations specific to facility maintenance.
  • First Aid certification.
