Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Part-Time Phlebotomist to join our growing healthcare team in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures with accuracy, minimal discomfort, and strict adherence to safety protocols for patients of all ages.
  • Properly identify patients, label specimens, and complete necessary documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare collected specimens for transport, ensuring correct storage conditions and timely dispatch to the laboratory.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked phlebotomy area, including managing supplies and disposing of biohazardous waste according to regulations.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to patients before, during, and after blood collection procedures.
  • Monitor patient reactions during and after venipuncture, providing immediate assistance if adverse events occur.
  • Adhere strictly to all HIPAA guidelines, patient confidentiality, and privacy regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and enhance phlebotomy skills and knowledge of best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical staff, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in phlebotomy, including venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
  • Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate patient identification, specimen labeling, and documentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of infection control and safety protocols.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certification from a recognized institution (e.g., ASCP, NHA) or equivalent national certification.
  • Proficiency in German language (B2 level or higher).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting.
