Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver structured driving lessons to a diverse range of pupils, adhering to DVSA syllabus standards.
- Assess pupil progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles and needs.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, attendance, and payments.
- Ensure the training vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and safe for use, conducting regular safety checks.
- Promote safe driving practices and road etiquette at all times.
- Stay updated with changes in driving regulations, test procedures, and best practices in driver training.
- Assist pupils with theory test preparation and practical test booking where necessary.
- Manage own work schedule and diary effectively to maximise lesson availability and pupil satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Fully Qualified ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) status with the DVSA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse learners.
- Exceptional patience, empathy, and a calm demeanour.
- Strong observational skills and the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
- A clean driving record and a deep understanding of the Highway Code and road safety principles.
- Organisational and time management skills to manage a teaching schedule efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience as an active Driving Instructor.
- Experience teaching a range of age groups and abilities, including nervous or anxious learners.
- Familiarity with the specific driving test routes and areas around West Kirby and Liverpool.
- Additional qualifications in advanced driving or first aid.
