This full-time position is an incredible chance for someone with little to no prior experience to learn the fundamental aspects of road construction and paving from the ground up. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to projects that directly improve the infrastructure and connectivity of Barue and the broader Manica Province. As a Paving Crew Aide, you’ll be an integral part of a dynamic team responsible for preparing sites, handling materials, and assisting with the paving process. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced crew members with the preparation of work sites, including clearing debris, setting up cones and barricades, and ensuring a safe working area.
- Handle and transport materials such as asphalt, aggregates, and other construction supplies to and from work areas.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision, including shovels, rakes, brooms, and compactors.
- Learn and apply proper techniques for spreading, leveling, and compacting paving materials.
- Perform general labor tasks as required to support the paving crew, including cleaning equipment and maintaining an organized worksite.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress, challenges, and safety concerns.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment by demonstrating a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of equipment and vehicles after use.
