Career.zycto is thrilled to partner with a leading infrastructure development firm to find dedicated and eager individuals for the role of Paving Crew Aide – Entry Level. This full-time position is an incredible chance for someone with little to no prior experience to learn the fundamental aspects of road construction and paving from the ground up. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to projects that directly improve the infrastructure and connectivity of Barue and the broader Manica Province. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of paving projects, from initial ground preparation to the final touches, contributing directly to safer and more efficient roadways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced crew members with the preparation of work sites, including clearing debris, setting up cones and barricades, and ensuring a safe working area.
  • Handle and transport materials such as asphalt, aggregates, and other construction supplies to and from work areas.
  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision, including shovels, rakes, brooms, and compactors.
  • Learn and apply proper techniques for spreading, leveling, and compacting paving materials.
  • Perform general labor tasks as required to support the paving crew, including cleaning equipment and maintaining an organized worksite.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress, challenges, and safety concerns.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive team environment by demonstrating a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of equipment and vehicles after use.

  • Ability to communicate in Portuguese (local language in Mozambique).
  • Valid driver’s license.
