Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and dedicated Payroll Support Clerk to join our vibrant team in Mississauga, Ontario, for an immediate start. You will be the backbone of our payroll department, assisting with a variety of tasks that ensure our employees are compensated correctly and on time. This includes gathering and inputting timecard data, processing new hire information, verifying changes to employee records, and helping to resolve any payroll discrepancies that may arise. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and process employee payroll data, including hours, deductions, and changes.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for employees.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the payroll system, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Verify timesheets and other payroll-related documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Respond to and resolve basic employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and other payroll matters.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end payroll reconciliations and reporting.
  • Support compliance with all relevant provincial and federal payroll legislation.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports as required.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure seamless information flow.
  • Perform general administrative duties related to the payroll department.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a payroll or administrative support role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, or similar).
  • Strong data entry skills with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience with Canadian payroll legislation and regulations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or in progress.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
