Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and professional Driver to join our growing logistics and delivery team in Reading, Montego Bay. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods using a company-provided vehicle, playing a crucial part in our supply chain operations. As a Driver, you will be the face of our company to many of our clients, requiring excellent customer service skills alongside your driving expertise. You will be responsible for navigating local routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of our cargo. Your day-to-day will involve meticulously planning delivery routes, loading and unloading packages, verifying delivery contents, and accurately completing necessary documentation. Maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of your assigned company vehicle will also be a key responsibility. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to designated locations within Montego Bay and surrounding areas.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools as needed.
- Load and unload packages and cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
- Verify the contents of shipments against delivery notes to ensure accuracy and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle maintenance records, and other required documentation.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Assist with warehouse duties, including packing, sorting, and organizing, when not on delivery routes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general maintenance of the company vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (Class B or C endorsement preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience (delivery or logistics highly preferred)
- Clean driving record with no major infractions or accidents in the past 3 years
- Strong knowledge of Montego Bay and surrounding parish road networks
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of reliability and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with route optimization software or GPS systems
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Familiarity with inventory management procedures
