Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery van to transport goods to various destinations within Maple Ridge and surrounding areas.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working order and reporting any issues promptly.
- Load and unload packages accurately and with care, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
- Follow planned delivery routes and schedules, adapting to unforeseen circumstances like traffic or weather conditions.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with all clients.
- Obtain necessary signatures and complete delivery documentation accurately and completely.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle on a daily basis.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered on route.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License (or equivalent).
- Clean driving record (Driver's Abstract required upon application).
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs independently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet delivery schedules.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using GPS and navigation tools.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) in a professional delivery or courier role.
- Familiarity with the Maple Ridge and Metro Vancouver road network.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate hand trucks and other material handling equipment.
