Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Supply Chain Planner to join a dynamic team, working with a leading FMCG brand through Career.zycto. This pivotal role involves optimizing the end-to-end supply chain processes, from demand forecasting and inventory management to ensuring timely product delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of the fast-moving consumer goods landscape and be adept at leveraging data to drive strategic decisions. You will be instrumental in balancing customer service levels with inventory efficiency and cost management, collaborating closely with sales, marketing, production, and logistics teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement accurate demand forecasts for a portfolio of FMCG products, utilizing historical data, market trends, and promotional plans.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing holding costs and waste across various distribution channels.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, production, and logistics teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, contributing insights and data-driven recommendations.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and finished goods.
  • Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, developing contingency plans to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve customer satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Supply Chain Planner or similar role within the FMCG sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in demand forecasting and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make data-driven decisions under pressure.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes and their impact on business performance.
  • Proactive and organized approach with a strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience with supply chain planning software solutions.
  • Knowledge of Scottish and UK retail market dynamics.
