Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents and alerts using SIEM, EDR, and other security tools.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and address weaknesses.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) and infrastructure architecture.
- Conduct forensic analysis on security breaches to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Provide expert guidance on security best practices, emerging threats, and new technologies.
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees.
- Manage and maintain security systems, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, anti-malware, and data loss prevention solutions.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR and local Mauritian laws.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our security posture and incident response capabilities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a cybersecurity role, with a strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and data protection techniques.
- Solid incident response and forensic analysis skills.
- Knowledge of scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux) and their security configurations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH, GIAC certifications.
