Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of premises, both internal and external, during day and night shifts.
- Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment.
- Control access to the facility, verifying identification and issuing visitor badges as required.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, security incidents, and emergencies.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures.
- Deter illegal activities and unauthorized access.
- Liaise with emergency services when necessary.
- Provide a visible security presence to ensure the safety and security of staff, visitors, and assets.
- Perform bag/vehicle searches as per company policy.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guard).
- Proven experience in a security role (e.g., corporate security, retail security, static guarding).
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English for reporting and communication.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic IT literacy for operating security systems and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid qualification (e.g., Emergency First Aid at Work).
- Experience with advanced CCTV monitoring software.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols in Edinburgh.
- Previous experience in a large-scale commercial or industrial environment.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
