Career.zycto is seeking a passionate and skilled Barista to join our dynamic team in Mer Rouge, Port Louis. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages according to company recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other coffee-making equipment.
- Greet customers warmly, take accurate orders, and process payments efficiently using a POS system.
- Provide exceptional customer service, respond to inquiries, and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, seating areas, and equipment.
- Monitor and replenish inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Educate customers on menu items, coffee blends, and preparation methods.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and reconcile daily sales.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and restocking.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating espresso machines and grinders.
- Basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and latte art.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 kg.
- Proficiency in English and French.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista in a high-volume café or restaurant.
- Food handler's permit or certification.
- Knowledge of various coffee origins and brewing methods.
- Experience with inventory management and cash handling procedures.
