Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce high-quality, accurate maps and a variety of spatial data products using advanced GIS software.
- Collect, process, and analyze complex geographic data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Ensure strict adherence to established cartographic standards, guidelines, and project specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including GIS analysts, developers, and project managers, on diverse mapping initiatives.
- Manage, maintain, and update geospatial databases and archives efficiently.
- Research and implement new mapping technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance our cartographic capabilities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cartographic style guides and templates for consistent visual output.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Cartography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' professional experience utilizing industry-standard GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, QGIS).
- Strong command of cartographic design principles, data visualization techniques, and map projection systems.
- Proficiency in spatial data analysis, geoprocessing, and working with various data formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML).
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex spatial concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Cartography, GIS, or a relevant scientific discipline.
- Experience with web mapping technologies and libraries (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox GL JS, OpenLayers).
