Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis on companies, industries, and economic trends to identify investment opportunities and risks.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models, including valuation models, cash flow projections, and sensitivity analyses.
- Prepare detailed investment memoranda, research reports, and presentations for internal committees and external clients.
- Monitor existing portfolio investments, track performance against benchmarks, and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Stay abreast of global and local market developments, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes.
- Collaborate effectively with portfolio managers, traders, and other financial professionals to formulate and refine investment strategies.
- Perform thorough due diligence on potential investment targets, assessing their financial health, strategic fit, and operational risks.
- Assist in the preparation of client performance reports and participate in client meetings to articulate investment insights as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in investment analysis, financial modeling, or a related role.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, multiples), and statistical analysis.
- Strong understanding of capital markets, various asset classes, and complex investment products.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with financial data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Progress towards or completion of a CFA designation (Level I, II, or III).
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with specific investment management software or portfolio analytics tools.
- In-depth knowledge of the Zimbabwean economic and regulatory landscape, including local market dynamics and opportunities.
- Prior experience in a banking or financial institution setting, particularly within an investment division.
