Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily bar and lounge operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Supervise, train, and mentor bar staff, including bartenders, waitstaff, and bussers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage beverage inventory, including ordering, stock rotation, loss prevention, and conducting regular stocktakes.
- Develop and maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and hygiene in the lounge and bar areas.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally, resolving issues to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Create staff schedules, assign duties, and ensure adequate staffing levels for all shifts.
- Monitor cash handling procedures, manage end-of-shift reconciliations, and prepare daily sales reports.
- Enforce all health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
- Collaborate with management on promotional activities, menu development, and special events to boost sales.
- Conduct performance reviews for staff and identify areas for professional development.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume bar or lounge.
- Extensive knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and train staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Fluent in English and Swahili.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
- Certification in mixology or advanced beverage training.
- Experience with inventory management software.
- First Aid and Fire Safety certification.
