Key Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee all aspects of the brewing process, including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, and fermentation, adhering strictly to established recipes and quality standards.
- Monitor and control fermentation and conditioning processes, including yeast management, temperature control, and gravity checks.
- Perform CIP (Clean-In-Place) procedures and general cleaning of brewing equipment, tanks, and workspace to maintain the highest levels of hygiene and sanitation.
- Conduct quality control tests throughout the brewing process (pH, gravity, temperature, sensory analysis) and maintain accurate batch records.
- Assist in the development and scaling of new beer recipes, contributing creative ideas and technical expertise.
- Operate and maintain brewing equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and packaging machinery.
- Manage raw material inventory, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of malt, hops, yeast, and other ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Troubleshoot brewing issues and implement corrective actions efficiently.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional brewing experience in a commercial brewery setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of brewing science, yeast management, and fermentation kinetics.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining modern brewing equipment.
- Strong commitment to quality control, hygiene, and safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and inventory management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal education in Brewing Science, Fermentation Technology, or a related field (e.g., Braumeister, brewing technician degree).
- Experience with packaging operations (bottling, canning, kegging).
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency in German language (B1 level or higher) to facilitate communication with local suppliers and team members.
- Knowledge of HACCP or other food safety management systems.
