Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate international shipments (sea, air, road freight) from origin to destination.
  • Handle all necessary customs documentation, declarations, and ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Negotiate freight rates with carriers and agents to secure competitive pricing.
  • Optimize routes and logistics solutions to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Communicate proactively with clients, carriers, and overseas partners regarding shipment status and potential issues.
  • Resolve operational discrepancies and address customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Process invoices, prepare quotes, and maintain accurate shipment records.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and clients.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar logistics role.
  • In-depth knowledge of international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in English and German (both highly advantageous for Düsseldorf location).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or vocational training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise One, Magaya).
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, Dutch, Spanish).
  • Certification in customs brokerage or dangerous goods handling.
