Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including meticulous receiving, systematic storage, efficient dispatch, and precise inventory control.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency, considering factors like traffic patterns, delivery urgency, and vehicle capacity utilization.
- Manage and track inventory levels rigorously, conducting regular physical and system audits to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Liaise effectively with suppliers, transporters, and internal departments to ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, waybills, and customs declarations where applicable.
- Monitor fleet maintenance schedules and ensure all delivery vehicles are in optimal working condition and compliant with safety standards and regulations.
- Implement and enforce company logistics policies and procedures, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve logistical issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies, promptly and effectively to minimize disruptions.
- Generate regular, comprehensive reports on logistics performance, inventory status, delivery metrics, and operational costs.
- Utilize advanced logistics software and systems to track shipments, manage orders, and analyze data for continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to warehouse and delivery staff, fostering a collaborative, productive, and safety-conscious work environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in logistics coordination, warehouse management, or supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, warehouse best practices, and distribution processes.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of local transportation regulations, import/export procedures, and customs requirements specific to Jamaica.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CLTD, CPIM).
