Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations for both import and export shipments.
- Prepare, process, and manage all necessary shipping documentation (e.g., Air Waybills, Bills of Lading, customs declarations, certificates of origin).
- Liaise effectively with clients, carriers, customs brokers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth operations and excellent service delivery.
- Negotiate competitive rates and terms with air, sea, and road freight carriers to optimise cost and transit times.
- Track and trace shipments diligently, providing proactive and real-time updates to clients.
- Ensure full compliance with all international trade regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve operational issues, discrepancies, and customer complaints efficiently and effectively.
- Process invoices, manage costs, and handle billing inquiries accurately.
- Maintain precise and comprehensive records and databases of all freight movements and client interactions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder (minimum 3 years in a similar role).
- Strong knowledge of international import/export procedures, customs regulations, and trade compliance (e.g., Incoterms).
- Proficiency in freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Solid geographical knowledge and understanding of global trade routes and logistics networks.
