Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver goods to customers on scheduled routes within Vallejo and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring all safety measures are met and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload packages and materials, ensuring accurate and secure handling to prevent damage.
- Verify order accuracy with customers upon delivery and obtain necessary signatures or confirmations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor during all interactions.
- Optimize delivery routes using navigation tools and local knowledge to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
- Handle returns and pickups as required, following established procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C or higher)
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years (MVR check required)
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with navigation devices and mapping applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of professional delivery or courier experience.
- Familiarity with Vallejo and Solano County roadways.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or delivery management software.
