Key Responsibilities
- Operate various terminal equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling machinery, safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload freight from trucks, containers, and railcars, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Perform detailed inventory counts and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Organize and stack materials in designated areas within the terminal to optimize space and accessibility.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, drivers, and supervisory staff to ensure seamless terminal operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Valid forklift operator certification (Gabelstaplerschein) or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and documentation.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
