Key Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, laminates, and other materials according to project specifications.
- Construct and install bespoke furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, and structural elements.
- Perform intricate joinery and finishing work, including sanding, staining, varnishing, and polishing.
- Inspect and repair damaged wooden structures or furniture.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure project completion.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations on all job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Provide accurate material estimates and project timelines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or Joiner, with a strong portfolio of bespoke work.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Expertise in using both hand and power woodworking tools and machinery.
- Thorough understanding of wood properties, joinery techniques, and construction methods.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to work.
- Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery, or equivalent vocational qualification.
