Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Carpenter specializing in bespoke woodwork and furniture to join our growing team in Broomhill, Sheffield. Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, laminates, and other materials according to project specifications.
  • Construct and install bespoke furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, and structural elements.
  • Perform intricate joinery and finishing work, including sanding, staining, varnishing, and polishing.
  • Inspect and repair damaged wooden structures or furniture.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure project completion.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations on all job sites.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide accurate material estimates and project timelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter or Joiner, with a strong portfolio of bespoke work.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Expertise in using both hand and power woodworking tools and machinery.
  • Thorough understanding of wood properties, joinery techniques, and construction methods.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to work.
  • Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery, or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Experience with CAD software for design visualization (e.g., SketchUp, AutoCAD).
  • Valid CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • Full UK driving license.
  • First Aid certification.
