Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of general labour duties on construction sites, including site preparation, material handling, and clean-up.
- Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., bricklayers, carpenters, plasterers) with their tasks, following instructions carefully.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, ensuring proper maintenance and storage.
- Mix and lay concrete, mortar, and other building materials according to project specifications.
- Load and unload construction materials from vehicles and transport them around the site.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding and temporary structures under supervision, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific rules rigorously.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and construction drawings to understand project requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
- Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and other trades to ensure project deadlines are met efficiently.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards or issues to site management promptly.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general construction labour or a similar role (minimum 3 years).
- Demonstrable knowledge of construction methods, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong understanding and commitment to site safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to take direction.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for understanding instructions and measurements.
Preferred Qualifications
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in construction or a related trade.
- First Aid certification.

- Valid UK Driving Licence and access to personal transport.
