Job Description

Are you a meticulous planner with a passion for logistics and a knack for optimization? Wisynco Group Limited is seeking an energetic and dedicated Transport Coordinator to join our team in Hope Bay, Portland Parish. This critical role focuses on the efficient planning and execution of daily transport routes, ensuring our products reach their destinations across Jamaica seamlessly and on time. As a Transport Coordinator, you will be instrumental in optimizing delivery schedules, managing our fleet resources, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. You’ll work a day shift, collaborating closely with drivers, warehouse staff, and sales teams to anticipate challenges and implement effective solutions. This position requires someone with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for developing cost-effective routes, monitoring driver performance, and ensuring compliance with all transport regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and manage daily transport routes for product delivery across assigned territories, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Schedule and dispatch drivers, allocating vehicles and resources based on delivery requirements and vehicle capacity.
  • Monitor real-time delivery progress, proactively addressing any delays, breakdowns, or route deviations.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse personnel, and sales teams to coordinate dispatches and resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure all transport operations comply with company policies, safety standards, and local traffic regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, driver logs, and delivery performance metrics.
  • Analyze transport data to identify areas for improvement in route planning and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports on transport activities, expenditures, and key performance indicators.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new drivers on route procedures and company protocols.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive work environment, fostering teamwork and open communication.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in transport coordination or logistics planning, specifically with route optimization.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Jamaica, particularly the Portland Parish and surrounding areas.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, route planning tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with diverse teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with GPS tracking systems and fleet management software.
  • Familiarity with local transport regulations and industry best practices.
