Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival and departure, ensuring a personalized experience.
  • Efficiently perform check-ins and check-outs, including handling guest registrations, room assignments, and processing payments.
  • Manage incoming calls and emails, addressing guest inquiries, providing information about hotel services, and local attractions.
  • Accurately process reservations, modifications, and cancellations, ensuring all details are recorded correctly.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy, escalating complex problems to management when necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel facilities, services, and promotions, as well as local events and dining options.
  • Conduct daily cash handling procedures, balance daily reports, and ensure the security of financial transactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest requests are met promptly.
  • Uphold hotel security procedures, including monitoring lobby activity and ensuring guest privacy.
  • Assist with luggage handling or concierge duties as needed, ensuring a full-service experience.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or relevant certification in Hospitality Management.
  • Fluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of San Diego's Old Town history, attractions, and dining scene.
  • Experience with Opera PMS or similar property management systems.
