Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Hospitality Front Desk Coordinator to join our esteemed team at Tembo House Hotel. This pivotal full-time role serves as the primary point of contact for our cherished guests, embodying the warm spirit and exceptional service that defines our brand. The successful candidate will be the welcoming face of our hotel, responsible for ensuring an impeccable arrival and departure experience, managing reservations with precision, and addressing guest inquiries and needs with professionalism and genuine care. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, performing efficient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Manage all aspects of guest reservations, including processing bookings, modifications, and cancellations with accuracy.
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel facilities, services, local attractions, and dining options.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Process payments, manage cash float, and maintain accurate financial records for front desk operations.
- Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area, ensuring a welcoming and professional appearance.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B departments to fulfill guest needs and ensure smooth operations.
- Assist guests with luggage handling, taxi services, and other logistical arrangements as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel occupancy, daily events, and special promotions.
- Actively contribute to a positive team environment and uphold the hotel’s standards of service excellence.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a front desk or guest services role within the hospitality industry.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English (Swahili is a significant advantage).
- Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio, or similar PMS systems).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for guest service and satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to guest needs.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Fluency in additional languages (e.g., German, French, Italian, Arabic).
- Experience with online travel agencies (OTAs) and channel management platforms.
- Prior experience working in a heritage hotel or boutique resort setting.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
