Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial client consultations to understand event objectives, preferences, and budget for both wedding and corporate events.
  • Develop comprehensive event proposals, including themes, décor, catering, entertainment, and logistical plans.
  • Create detailed timelines, checklists, and floor plans to ensure smooth execution.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage a diverse range of vendors (venues, caterers, florists, photographers, entertainers, etc.).
  • Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring all financial aspects are meticulously tracked and adhered to.
  • Coordinate all on-site event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and troubleshooting during events.
  • Provide exceptional client communication and support throughout the planning process.
  • Oversee all contractual agreements with vendors and clients.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and gather client feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with event planning trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to both wedding and corporate sectors.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in event planning for both wedding and corporate events (min. 3 years)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field
  • Certification in Event Management (e.g., CMP, CSEP)
  • Established network of local vendors and venues in Montego Bay and surrounding areas
  • Experience with event management software and CRM tools
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to the Jamaican tourism market
