Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative menus incorporating Continental, Local, and Fine Dining styles, ensuring seasonality and ingredient quality.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes consistently, adhering to recipes, presentation standards, and food safety regulations.
- Manage kitchen operations during service, including mise en place, food preparation, and plating.
- Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Monitor inventory, place orders, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs.
- Maintain immaculate hygiene and sanitation standards in all kitchen areas, complying with HACCP guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Continuously research and experiment with new culinary techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Chef in a fine dining or high-end restaurant environment.
- Exceptional knowledge and practical experience in Continental, Local (British), and Fine Dining cuisines.
- Strong understanding of culinary techniques, food science, and flavor profiles.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in menu planning, inventory management, and cost control.
- Current Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or 3).
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent culinary qualification.
- Experience in Michelin-starred or Rosette-awarded establishments.
- Familiarity with local suppliers and seasonal produce within the Sheffield/Yorkshire region.
