Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the freight division, including scheduling, dispatching, and tracking shipments.
- Manage and mentor a team of logistics coordinators and support staff, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
- Optimize transportation routes and methods to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and company safety standards.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehousing) and external partners (e.g., carriers, vendors) to ensure smooth operations.
- Resolve operational issues, customer complaints, and shipment discrepancies efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on logistics activities, performance, and expenditures.
- Implement and enforce best practices for freight management, inventory control, and supply chain security.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, specifically within freight operations.
