Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle for the transportation of goods.
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, representing Career.zycto positively.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Handle delivery documentation, including invoices, manifests, and proof of delivery.
- Assist with inventory checks and warehouse organization as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (preferably Class C or above)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years.
- Proven experience in logistics, delivery, or commercial driving.
- Excellent knowledge of Salt Spring, St. James, and surrounding areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with route optimization software or GPS navigation systems.
- Customer service experience in a delivery setting.
