Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and strike of stage sets, props, lighting, and sound equipment for various productions.
- Operate follow spots, fly systems, and other stage machinery under supervision.
- Execute scene changes and stage transitions efficiently and safely during live performances.
- Load and unload equipment from trucks, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on stage equipment as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with directors, stage managers, and other crew members.
- Maintain a clean and organized backstage environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Stagehand or in a similar production role (minimum 1 year).
- Strong understanding of theatre technical operations, including lighting, sound, and rigging.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Exceptional teamwork and communication abilities.
- Commitment to safety protocols and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant technical theatre or live event production certifications.
- Experience with specific lighting consoles (e.g., ETC, GrandMA).
- Proficiency with audio mixing desks (e.g., Yamaha, DiGiCo).
- Familiarity with counterweight flying systems.
- Valid UK driving license and experience driving commercial vehicles.
