Key Responsibilities
- Manage entry points, verify age identification, and enforce entry policies with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Conduct polite and thorough searches where required, adhering to legal guidelines and ensuring no prohibited items enter the venue.
- Actively monitor premises for unusual behaviour, disturbances, or potential security risks throughout shifts.
- Proactively identify and skillfully de-escalate conflicts or confrontational situations calmly and professionally.
- Safely and legally eject unruly, aggressive, or intoxicated individuals in accordance with legal guidelines and company policy.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, or other critical situations, assisting with evacuation procedures as needed.
- Collaborate closely with management, bar staff, and other team members to ensure smooth operations and a safe environment for all.
- Provide a visible and reassuring deterrence against crime, maintaining a professional and approachable presence for patrons.
- Accurately and promptly report all incidents, security breaches, and suspicious activities to relevant management.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of licensing laws, venue policies, and emergency procedures relevant to the role.
Required Skills
- SIA Door Supervisor License (valid and current)
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in a similar security or door supervision role
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills for diverse interactions
- Superior conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities
- High level of observational awareness and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional under significant pressure
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods, as well as handle physical interventions if necessary
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to public venues
- Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified period)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically within nightclub, bar, or large event security settings
- Additional security training certifications (e.g., CCTV Operator, Physical Intervention techniques)
- Formal customer service training or extensive experience in customer-facing roles
