Zanzibar Unforgettable Tours is seeking a dedicated Tour Guide Coordinator to join our vibrant team in Kikwajuni, Zanzibar City. As a Tour Guide Coordinator, you will be the backbone of our operational success, responsible for orchestrating the daily activities of our tour guides and ensuring that every tour runs seamlessly from start to finish. You will manage scheduling, allocate resources, communicate with guides and clients, and troubleshoot any logistical challenges that may arise. This position requires exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the daily schedules and assignments for a team of experienced tour guides.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for tour guides, addressing their queries and providing necessary support.
  • Liaise with clients, confirming tour details, special requests, and ensuring their expectations are met.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources, including transportation, equipment, and other tour necessities.
  • Monitor tour progress, proactively identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of tour bookings, guide availability, and client feedback.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of tour itineraries to enhance guest experiences.
  • Ensure all tours adhere to safety regulations and company standards.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a coordination or administrative role, preferably within tourism or hospitality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Proficiency in using scheduling software and basic office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Zanzibar's attractions, culture, and logistical considerations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, German, Italian, Spanish).
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • First-aid and CPR certification.
  • A valid local driving license.
