Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications, ensuring legal and ethical compliance and patient safety.
- Provide comprehensive patient counselling on medication use, side effects, storage, and adherence.
- Conduct medication reviews and participate in medication therapy management (MTM) programs.
- Deliver a range of clinical services, including vaccinations, health checks, and minor ailment advice.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stock control, and handling of controlled drugs.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, best practices, and clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Actively participate in health promotion initiatives and public health campaigns within the community.
- Identify and resolve drug-related problems, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes for patients.
Required Skills
- Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree or equivalent.
- Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Excellent clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy dispensing software and IT systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience in a community or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Independent Prescriber qualification (or working towards it).
- Experience in delivering advanced clinical services (e.g., NMS, MURs, vaccinations).
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Additional language proficiency is a plus.
