Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapist specializing in Counseling & Mental Health to join our growing practice in Basford, Nottingham. As a Therapist with us, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, client-centered therapy across a spectrum of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and stress management. You will manage your own caseload, conduct comprehensive assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial client assessments to evaluate mental health needs and develop appropriate, client-centered treatment goals.
  • Provide individual and/or group psychotherapy using evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, person-centred, systemic approaches).
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, regularly reviewing and adjusting them based on client progress and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records in accordance with professional, ethical, and data protection guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, referring clients to additional services or specialists as needed.
  • Actively participate in regular clinical supervision and team meetings to discuss caseloads, share insights, and enhance best practice.
  • Stay current with best practices, new research, and advancements in the field of mental health and counseling through continuous professional development.
  • Adhere strictly to all relevant professional codes of conduct and ethical standards set by UK regulatory bodies (e.g., BACP, UKCP, HCPC, NCS).
  • Facilitate crisis intervention and risk assessment when necessary, developing and implementing safety plans for clients at risk.
  • Contribute proactively to a positive, inclusive, and supportive therapeutic environment for both clients and colleagues.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health discipline.
  • Full professional accreditation/registration with a recognized UK body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, HCPC, NCS).
  • Demonstrable experience (at least 2 years post-qualification) in providing individual and/or group therapy across a range of mental health conditions.
  • Proficiency in various evidence-based therapeutic modalities and the ability to adapt approaches effectively to meet diverse client needs.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills, alongside strong empathy and rapport-building abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail for record-keeping, case management, and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a caseload while also being a collaborative and supportive team player.
  • A deep understanding of ethical guidelines, professional boundaries, and safeguarding practices in therapeutic practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including varied cultural backgrounds, ages, and socio-economic statuses.
  • Specialized training or certification in specific therapeutic areas (e.g., trauma-informed therapy, couples therapy, addiction counseling).
  • Familiarity with local mental health resources, community support networks, and referral pathways in Nottingham and the surrounding areas.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for managing client information and appointments.
  • A demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and lifelong learning within the mental health field.
