Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain security systems, tools, and processes to protect networks, systems, and data.
  • Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to identify potential weaknesses.
  • Monitor security systems for anomalies and respond promptly to security incidents, including investigation, containment, and resolution.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, BSI).
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on cybersecurity matters to various internal stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, recommending necessary adjustments to our security posture.
  • Conduct security awareness training for employees to foster a security-conscious culture.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security is integrated into all stages of the system development lifecycle.
  • Manage and maintain identity and access management (IAM) solutions.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in a cybersecurity role, with a strong understanding of security principles.
  • Proficiency in security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM, endpoint protection, and VPNs.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud security concepts.
  • Experience with vulnerability management tools and penetration testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with information security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, BSI IT-Grundschutz).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a cybersecurity-related discipline.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
  • Knowledge of German data protection laws and regulations (e.g., BDSG).
  • Experience in cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with incident response playbooks and forensic analysis.
