Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive occupational health and safety programs and policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the industrial estate.
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure strict compliance with local (e.g., Factories Act, OSHA Jamaica) and relevant international H&S legislation and standards.
- Design and deliver engaging safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and new hires.
- Manage emergency response plans, including fire safety, first aid, and evacuation procedures.
- Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, training, and compliance activities.
- Advise management on health and safety best practices, regulatory changes, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Promote a strong safety culture through active communication, visible leadership, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to workstation design and operational processes.

Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations in Jamaica (e.g., Factories Act, OSHA principles).

- Excellent incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
