Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver a variety of goods to designated locations.
- Plan and optimize daily delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
- Verify accuracy of shipment contents against delivery manifests and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any client inquiries or concerns professionally.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
- Ensure cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C minimum, commercial license a plus)
- Clean driving record with no major infractions for the past 3 years
- Proven ability to operate delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
- Strong geographical knowledge of the Santa Clara County area
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs consistently
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with route planning software or GPS navigation systems
- Previous experience in logistics, package delivery, or a similar field
- Forklift certification (not required but a plus)
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
