Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and passionate Freelance Event Planner specializing in both wedding and corporate events to join our network of top-tier professionals in Manor Park, Kingston. Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their event objectives, preferences, and budgetary requirements for both wedding and corporate events.
  • Develop comprehensive event proposals, including themes, concepts, décor, catering, entertainment, and logistics.
  • Create and manage detailed event timelines, budgets, and checklists to ensure all milestones are met.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors (venues, caterers, photographers, florists, entertainers, etc.).
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring seamless operations and problem-solving on-site.
  • Coordinate all logistical elements, including transportation, accommodation, audiovisual requirements, and guest management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory guidelines for events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communication throughout the planning process and during the event.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and analyze event success against objectives.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in event planning, with a proven track record in both wedding and corporate events.
  • Demonstrable portfolio of successful events.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial tracking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with event planning software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Crisis management and problem-solving capabilities under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Certification in Event Management (e.g., CMP – Certified Meeting Professional).
  • Established network of reliable local vendors in Kingston and surrounding areas.
  • Experience with marketing and promoting events.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
