Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process all necessary import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
- Ensure strict compliance with local and international customs regulations, tariff codes, and trade agreements.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to facilitate timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
- Track and monitor shipment statuses, providing regular updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Resolve any issues related to shipments, customs clearance, or documentation discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all import/export transactions and supporting documents.
- Process and verify customs duties, taxes, and other related charges.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding shipping schedules, delivery requirements, and documentation needs.
- Stay updated on changes in import/export regulations and trade policies to ensure continuous compliance.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Import Export Clerk or similar role (minimum 2 years).
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
- Proficiency in preparing and processing a wide range of import/export documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
