Focus Events Mozambique is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Event Coordinator Helper to join our vibrant team in Alto Maé, Maputo. As an Event Coordinator Helper, you will play a crucial supporting role, assisting our lead Event Coordinators with various tasks before, during, and after events. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in event planning activities, including venue research, vendor communication, and budget tracking.
  • Support logistics coordination, ensuring all equipment, materials, and personnel are in place for events.
  • Help with event setup and breakdown, including décor arrangement, signage placement, and equipment handling.
  • Greet guests, provide information, and assist with registration processes during events.
  • Manage event supplies and inventory, ensuring availability and proper storage.
  • Provide on-site support to the lead Event Coordinator, troubleshooting minor issues as they arise.
  • Assist with post-event tasks, such as collecting feedback, organizing materials, and preparing summary reports.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members, clients, and vendors.
  • Perform administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and preparing event-related documents.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety guidelines during event execution.

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a strong sense of initiative.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to lift and carry event materials up to 15 kg.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends as needed for events.
  • Reliable transportation to various event locations within Maputo.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or event support roles (even volunteer experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of local vendors and venues in Maputo.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Events Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with event planning software or tools.
