Career.zycto is seeking passionate and dedicated Tutors to join our expanding network, providing high-quality private and online educational support to students in Tongwynlais, Cardiff, and across the wider UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced educators, subject matter experts, or recent graduates who possess a genuine desire to inspire learning and help students achieve their academic potential. As a Tutor with Career.zycto, you will deliver tailored one-on-one or small group sessions, adapting your teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and educational goals.
You will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule, choosing when and how much you work, making this an ideal role for those seeking to balance their professional life with other commitments. Our online platform provides all the necessary tools for seamless virtual instruction, allowing you to connect with students from the comfort of your own home. For private sessions, you will coordinate directly with students/parents for in-person meetings at agreed-upon locations within Tongwynlais or surrounding areas.
We are looking for individuals who can offer expertise across various subjects, including but not limited to Mathematics, English Language & Literature, Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Humanities (History, Geography), and Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, German). Success in this role hinges on your ability to build rapport with students, motivate them, track their progress effectively, and provide constructive feedback that fosters confidence and improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and effective private and online tutoring sessions for students of varying ages and abilities.
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans and strategies to meet individual student needs and academic goals.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback to students and parents/guardians.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson materials, including exercises, homework assignments, and supplementary resources.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and Career.zycto management.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, session summaries, and student performance.
- Stay updated on curriculum changes and educational best practices relevant to your subject area(s).
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and productive learning environment.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven expertise in one or more academic subjects at GCSE, A-Level, or equivalent.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and individual needs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using online teaching platforms and digital learning tools.
- Reliable internet connection and appropriate tutoring setup for online sessions.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant subject area.
- Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or educational support roles.
- Familiarity with the Welsh educational curriculum.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
