Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and physically capable Heavy Lifting Truck Loader to join our client’s bustling warehouse team in Hurlingham, Nairobi. This crucial role involves the safe and efficient loading and unloading of goods from various trucks and containers, ensuring that merchandise is handled with care and organized according to established protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload heavy and bulky items from delivery trucks, containers, and trailers.
- Verify merchandise against invoices or shipping documents, ensuring accuracy and reporting any discrepancies or damages immediately.
- Organize and stack goods in designated warehouse areas, adhering to inventory management and safety guidelines.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, safely and proficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including sweeping, clearing aisles, and ensuring proper storage.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse supervisors, drivers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as required, including picking, packing, and general housekeeping.
- Perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods throughout the shift.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to lift heavy objects consistently (up to 50 lbs or 23 kg) and perform strenuous physical tasks.
- Strong understanding and commitment to warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Excellent physical stamina, coordination, and agility.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping labels, invoices, and other operational documents.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, logistics, or similar heavy-lifting environment.
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
