Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Coordinator with a strong focus on warehouse management and delivery operations to join our dynamic team. As a key professional, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods from our warehouse to various delivery points. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve logistical challenges. You will be responsible for coordinating daily logistics activities, optimizing inventory movement, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery processes. This position requires a professional who is adept at problem-solving, capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently, and committed to upholding the highest standards of operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in supply chain software, inventory management systems, and an understanding of local and international shipping regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using relevant software systems, conducting regular stock counts and reconciliations.
  • Plan and schedule delivery routes for optimal efficiency, considering factors such as distance, time, and cost.
  • Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, and transportation providers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Monitor and track shipments from dispatch to delivery, proactively addressing any delays or issues that may arise.
  • Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and customs forms.
  • Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with carriers to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the warehouse environment.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational performance.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints related to deliveries and logistics effectively.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or similar role (minimum 3 years)
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management principles and practices
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and supply chain systems (e.g., ERP, WMS)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CTL)
  • Experience with international shipping procedures and customs regulations
  • Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies in logistics
  • Familiarity with local transportation networks and regulations in Jamaica
